Vital Aging

Vital Aging is a monthly gathering that brings OLLI @Berkeley members together in community to discuss and reflect on issues of particular significance to older adults.

Each month features a different theme. Senior living options, solo aging, decluttering and improving sleep are just some of the many topics explored over the past few years.

When and Where

The group meets the first Thursday of every month. The majority of gatherings occur online with in-person get-togethers taking place quarterly in the OLLI office. All OLLI members are invited to participate. Come as you are and whenever you can.

Check our events calendar to view upcoming meetings. Links to RSVP are shared in member-only emails and posted in Member Dashboards.

How It Began

Vital Aging was founded in 2020 by longtime instructor and faculty member Sara Orem, Ph.D., a life-long student who completed her doctorate just before her 60th birthday. Sara led Vital Aging for three years, and we are deeply grateful to her for the energy, wisdom and compassion she brought to the role and for the caring community she so ably built.
